Abstract

Bottleneck condition is a part of road with smaller traffic capacity than the previous part of road. The objectives of this study are to know flow-speed-density relationships of traffics due to the bottleneck conditions, to know maximum value of flow of traffic both on normal road and bottleneck condition. The study is conducted at Letjen Harun Sohar road. Duration of observation was with 5 minutes interval from 07.00 until 08.00. In determining the relationship of traffic characteristic, used two methods: linier Greenshields and logaritmic Underwood. At the normal, speeds at normal road are higher than at the bottleneck and the end of normal road at the bottleneck, because there are differences in geometric conditions of the road, there are strip 3 to appointed strip 1 at the condition of road. From the analysis and calculation based on the coefficient of determination (R2) in normal road conditions have the most suitable model is the model Greenshields (Us-D: R2 = 0.99999809; VD: R2 = 0.99794223; V-Us: R2 = 0, 99,930,566). On the condition of the road narrows been the most suitable model is the model Underwood (Us-D: R2 = 0.999999639; V-D: R2 = 0.999999749; V-Us: R2 = 0.999983575). At the meeting the condition between normal and narrow roads have the most suitable model is the model Greenshields (Us-D: R2 = 0.99999999996; V-D: R2 = 1.00000000000; V-Us: R2 = 0.99994110677). Selection of the most suitable model is based on the coefficient of determination is greater than any other model. The average space velocity on the free flow Greenshields and Underwood models provide almost the same results on the same road cut condition despite the difference in value and the maximum current density. In normal road conditions Greenshields piece (Uf = 44.672 km / h; Dj = 14.492 smp / km; Vmax = 161 822 smp / hour); Underwood: (Uf = 44.677 km / h; Dm = 13.031 smp / km; Vmax = 214.162 smp / hour). On the condition of the road narrows piece Greenshields: (Uf = 43.075 km / h; Dj = 23.461 smp / km; Vmax = 256.168 smp / hour); Underwood: (Uf = 44.523 km / h; Dm = 18.18 smp / km; Vmax = 297.766 smp / hour). At the meeting dismembered condition between normal and narrowed Greenshields: (Uf = 41.525 km / h; Dj = 24.542 smp / km; Vmax = 254.776 smp / hour); Underwood: (Uf = 41.972 km / h; Dm = 20.83 smp / km; Vmax = 321.632 smp / hour).
