Abstract

As abundant natural resources, the utilization of water into alternative energy can be made by Electrolysis Process with the help of the electrolyte to produce hydrogen Gas. Decomposition reaction of an electrolyte may require the supply of electric current is converted into chemical energy. Variations in the supply of electric current used was 2.5, 4, 7, 9 and 11.5 ampere, with electrodes in the form of a stainless steel shaft with dimensions length 30 cm to 8 cm for anode and cathode with a diameter of 1 inch. From that problem, the prototype of Hydrogen Generator is designed. The purpose of this tool is used to generate hydrogen gas with a baffle that cotton. Where a fixed variable used are Concentration, and not fixed variable used are flow variations. From the results of the data processing, the production of hydrogen gas increases along with the increasing current is used. The largest Hydrogen Gas production obtained with the current 11.5 Ampere which is 203 ml and the production of hydrogen gas at low flow 1.6 Ampere of 178 ml. Of those results, can be obtained from the test tool of efficiency performance that has been done. The greater the production of hydrogen gas, then the greater the energy required, and conversely the less production generated then the lower the energy required. So for the current 11.5 Ampere efficiency tools namely 14.81 and for a current of 2.5 Ampere appliance efficiency of 20,166 Ampere.
