Abstract

Energy has become a necessity in human life since all human activitiesare needingthe energy. Nowadaysfuel energy that is widely used comes from fossil fuels and is not renewable. On the other hand, Indonesia is a maritime country which its 2/3 part are waters. It makes it possible for Indonesia to develop renewable energy comes from water. The rapid depletion of fossil energy causes human to try finding the renewable energysource, one of them is hydrogen fuel. The use of hydrogen fuel is not a new thing. It is an abundant element in the earth's existence. From various aspects, hydrogen has high promising side such as environmental, natural resources, health, and others. Productresulted fromthe use of hydrogen energy is water. In the state of vapor and ice, the water is not harmful unless it is used in a negative form. By using water which is very large on this earth can make hydrogen as anpotential alternative fuel. The process of obtaining hydrogen from water is called water electrolysis process. This research has created a prototype of water electrolyzer. The water used in this research is 6 Liters with the changed variable which is the concentration of NaCl 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. Hydrogen gas on the optimal production is in concentration of NaCl solution of 50% with its volume is5,1739Liter and mole percent of hydrogen in the product is 78.45%.
