Abstract
This final report studies about the figurative speech found in the novel Daddy-Long-Legs by Jean Webster. The purpose of this research is to find out what figurative speech can be found in the novel. In this research, the writer used Descriptive qualitative method. This method was used in order to collecting, classifying, anddescribing the figurative speech found in the novel Daddy-Long-Legs. The technique for collecting the data is documentation. The technique for analyzing the data were done through three steps: Identifying, Classifying, and Making percentage.The data got after reading the novel, There are 16 types of figurative speech. They are: Hyperbole consists of 16 sentences or the percentage of 13,3%, 12,5% or 15 of Irony, 11,7% or 14 of Metonymy, 10,8% or 13 of Simile, 10% or 12 of Metaphor, 9,2 % or 11 of Personification, 7% or 5 of Oxymoron, 5% or 3 of Litotes, 5,8% or 7 of Anti-Climax, 4,2% or 5 of Climax, 3,3 % or 4 of Transferred Ephitet, 3,3% or 4 of Pun, 3,3% or 4 of Paradox, 1,7% or 2of Synecdoche, 1,7% or 2 of Alliteration, 0,8% or 1 of Apostrophe.
