Abstract

The Effect of Temperature and Sludge Stirring Time of The Palm Oil Industry in Oil Production for Making Liquid Soap (Fuspasari, 2014, 58 pages, 15 tables, 11 pictures, 5 enclousers) Sludge is a waste that has not been utilized properly and discarded as an industry waste by PT Hindoli (A Cargil Comapny). it cause an environment pollution because sludge will generating a bad stink, but it has high quality fat that can be used as raw material of making liquid soap. Because of that an utilization of sludge for making liquid soap will give an additional point for sludge because can decrease an environment pollution. This research has done to knowing the effect of temperature comparison (50°C, 80°C, 90°C, 100°C, and 130°C) and stirring time (60', 90', 120', and 300') to the result of oil product at temperature and the best stirring time for used to making liquid soap with SNI standard 06- 3532-1994 through the processing KOH saponification.This result showed that the temperature comparison and the best stirring time to oil product of sludge that can be used to making liquid soap at 90°C and stirring time 90 minute that has an ability to clean up the dirt properly, a good stink, 9 of pH point, free fatty acid about 2,3040%, free alkali level about 0,073%, saponification number about 40,392 mgKOH/gr and water level about 16%where the values already achieving standard quality of liquid soap with SNI 06-3532-1994.
