Abstract

Decrease Content Color of Waste Songket using Composite Membranes based Chitosan-PVA in Ultrafiltration (M. Fikri Hidayat, 2014, 55 Pages, 16 Pictures, 10 tables, 4 attachment) One of the environmental pollution in South Sumatra that pollution caused by liquid waste yarn dyeing results songket. To overcome this, the technology required to produce quality effluent that meets water quality standards in accordance with regulation 8 Governor of South Sumatra in 2012. Technologies used are technology-based composite membrane with chitosan-PVA raw material ratio 75%: 25%. The main objective of this research is to lower the content of the synthesis of dyes in wastewater using membrane songket chitosan-PVA. The parameters used in this study is the flux and rejection. Based on the research results, the pure water flux reached 40.95 L/m2.jam, so that the resulting membrane unfit for use. For color rejection rates at 1000 ppm alum coagulant with pressure of 0.5 bar to 2.5 bar is equal to 97.51%, 94.76%, 90.42%, 90.38%, and 88.15%. Then, for 2000 ppm alum coagulant that is equal to 83.07%, 82.43%, 80.19%, 78.69%, and 75.78%. As for the concentration of 3000 ppm is equal taswas 77.85%, 76.65%, 76.42%, 68.62%, and 63.34%. From these results, it can be concluded that the magnitude of the pressure, then the value of the resulting rejection is getting smaller, but the greater the resulting flux.
