Abstract
EXTRACTION OF CHLOROPHYLL AND TEST OF STABILITY YIELD COLOR FROM KATUK LEAVES (Sauropus androgynus) (Emira Pratiwi, 2014, 65 Pages, 16 Tables, 17 Pictures, 18 Attachments) Chlorophyll is category of photosynthesis pigment on the plants, absorb red, blue and purple light with reflex green light that caused the plants get characteristic of color. To get chlorophyll, the extract its plant with ethanol 96% as solvent. Extract of chlorophyll can be use as natural dye substance to subtitute synthetic dye substance. The purpose of tis research are to know the effect of temperature and time of extraction to extract of chlorophyll was produced. In this research, do the extraction process with reflux method which minimize katuk leaves and weigh 50 grams. The various of temperature that used are 50⁰C, 60⁰C, 70⁰C, 80⁰C and various of time are 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours. To test of stability color, use the variation of storage time the extract was after extraction, 1 week, two week untuil five week storaged. From this research, the best extract of chlorophyll is the extract from temperature extraction 70⁰C and the time of extraction is 2 hours and content of chlorophyll is 3and pH 10,35.
