Abstract

Penelitian akhir ini berjudul “Perancangan Sistem Penyimpanan Arsip Elektronik Berbasis Microsoft Access Pada PT Jaya Umbara Sejahtera Palembang”. Penulisan laporan akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem kearsipan elektronik berbasis Microsoft Access pada PT Jaya Umbara Sejahtera Palembang. Metode pegumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Penulis menggunakan teknik analisis data kualitatif berupa perancangan sistem kearsipan elektronik berbasis Microsoft Access pada PT Jaya Umbara Sejahtera Palembang. Berdasarkan riset lapangan yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahwa sistem penyimpanan arsip secara manual dan elektronik. Kedua sistem penyimpanan arsip ini masih lemah dalam penyediaan tempat dan juga peralatan arsip yang membuat banyaknya arsip menumpuk dan tidak tertata rapi, dalam penemuan kembali arsip masih membutuhkan waktu lebih dari 5 (lima) menit. Perancangan sistem penyimpanan arsip elektronik berbasis Microsoft Access dapat memudahkan staff maupun karyawan dalam pengelolaan arsip. Saran dari penulis pada PT Jaya Umbara Sejahtera Palembang agar mengganti sistem kearsipannya dengan menggunakan perancangan sistem penyimpanan arsip elektronik berbasis Microsoft Access karena dapat membantu dalam kegiatan pengelolaan arsip dan juga dalam pengelolaannya tidak membutuhkan banyak tempat dan peralatan, sehingga proses penyimpanan arsip menjadi lebih efektif, proses penemuaan kembali arsip dapat menjadi lebih cepat dengan waktu kurang dari 1 (satu) menit dan arsip tertata rapih.
