Abstract

An electric power system must have a high degree of reliability that the system is able to provide the necessary supply of electrical energy continuously, and with a good quality of seg power voltage regulation and frequency regulation. One disorder that often occurs in the electric power system is a voltage dips disturbances. This voltage dips caused by a large load tansporting manually or starting a large-capacity motor current. At the starting of the motor starting currents generated can reach 5-10 times the nominal value. Losses quality of electric power will cause interference with operational processes in an industrial, voltage dips is one of the causes for the decrease in the power quality therefore, this study discusses the magnitude of the voltage dips and magnitude of changes in the voltage and current in an induction motor at the time of starting. Matlab program used in this study aims to create a series of simulations starting Direct On Line (DOL) an induction motor before it is applied to the actual circumstances. Keyworsd: voltages dips, starting motor, induction motor, DOL, MATLAB
