Abstract

This research aims at designing a storybook about the folktale of “Raden Alit“ for children at the early adolescence. The purpose of writing this final report was to know how to design the storybook telling about the folktale of “ Raden Alit “ for children at the early adolescence. The Research and Development Method which developed by Sukmadinata (2005) was used in this research using three main steps. The steps were preliminary study, development of the product and testing. The research was also designed in a qualitative research as the intention was to describe the steps in designing the storybook. The participants involved in this research were linguistic experts, Junior High School teacher, the editor, and two of Junior High School students. Based on the findings, it was revealed that the steps in designing the storybook were begun by desigining the storybook, reviewing by the experts, revising the product based on the experts review, and finally producing the product as a final version. It is suggested to produce storybooks that could give the good impact on children and attract children to know more about local folktale.
