Abstract

This final report discuss about writing a short story entitled “But First, Let’s Have Breakfast!” The problems was develop to answer how to write a short story entiled “But First, Let’s Have Breakfast!” to introduce traditional morning culinary in Palembang. Under qualitative research, the method was modified steps from Research and Development (R&D) Method by Sukmadinata (2005). They were three steps: preliminary study, model development and final product testing and dissemination. In final product testing and dissemination the writer modified it again into product testing only because of the lack of time and skill. The writer collected the data through observation and literature study. Then the writer wrote the short story as a final product. There were 4 experts in model development to validate the product. The result shows the short story can be used as an alternative way to introduce culinary tourism, especially morning culinary in Palembang. The writer expects, the student of English department can be more creative and innovative in introducing culinary tourism, as well as sharpen the writing skill.
