Abstract

The purpose of this final report is about writing the storybook of a fairy tale entitled The Fisherman and The Fairy. In writing the story, the writer focused on how Pindang Belido made through storybook. There were three procedures in writing a storybook. The first procedure was the preliminary study. In preliminary study, the writer did the literature study and used the steps in writing the storybook by Jones’s (2013). There are five steps in writing a story including; creating unforgettable characters, making suspenseful action/hook, creating realistic dialogue, making a storyline and creating instant recall factor. After that, the picture illustrations are designed and combined from the story script draft. The second procedure was model development that consists of limited testing and wider testing. The validity of the storybook has received validation by six related experts, namely the linguistic experts (English and Bahasa Indonesia) and illustration experts. And the last procedure was final product testing. However, the writer did not do the final product testing because of the lack of the time, budget, and legality aspect. Therefore, this study stopped and considered the second draft consisting of the second draft of the story script and picture illustration that have been revised in wider testing as the final product. The output of this study is a storybook with 24 pages written in English and Bahasa Indonesia entitled The Fisherman and The Fairy.
