Abstract

This research aimed at find out the process in designing a picture storybook about folklore for Children “The Origin of Goa Putri” from Ogan Komering Ulu” The methodology of this final report was Research and Development (R&D) modified by Sukmadinata (2005).The steps were, Preliminary study, development the product, and final product. The research techniques for collecting data was interview. The writer had two participants According to Nazir (1988), The meaning of the interview was procesing information for research purposes by way of question and answer face to face between the interviewer or interviewers with the respondents answering or by using a tool called an interview guide (interview guide). Based on findings, the writer found that this picture storybook could be an option for children to read culture book the process included from reviewing, surveying, testing and revision. The conclusion and suggestion were picture storybok should be made interesting for children to entertain and also intoduce culture of South Sumatera,especially Folklore.
